Huynh is accused of shooting Roberto Herrera, 44 – a security guard training instructor at Coast Career Institute – on Feb. 23. He is charged in case No. BA381445. The defendant allegedly walked out of class momentarily, returned with a firearm and proceeded to shoot Herrera multiple times in the head.
Huynh’s bail is recommended at $2 million. If convicted as charged, the defendant faces 50 years to life in state prison.
Image via WikipediaVAN NUYS – A Van Nuysjury deliberated four hours today before convicting a door-to-door magazine salesman of sexually assaulting a San Fernando Valley woman a little more than a year ago after forcing his way into her home.
Deputy District Attorney Jane Creighton said 25-year-old Gerald Vidal faces multiple life prison terms when he returns to Superior Court on March 29 for sentencing by trial Judge Barry Taylor. The defendant has been jailed on a little more than $4.5 million bail since he was arrested by Los Angeles police shortly after the assault in Winnetka on Dec. 17, 2009.
Creighton said the jury convicted the defendant of eight felony counts: one count each of first-degree burglary, attempted sodomy by use of force, assault with a deadly weapon, kidnapping, assault to commit a felony during the commission of a first-degree burglary and forcible oral copulation; and two counts of sexual penetration by a foreign object. The jury also found true allegations on three of the sexual assault counts that the crimes were committed during the burglary.
Vidal was working with an out-of-state group of door-to-door magazine salespeople who were staying at a motel in Woodland Hills.
Authorities said the defendant knocked at the door of the victim’s home on Dec. 17, 2009. The victim said she would buy a magazine subscription, but had to go to the bank to get money.
She closed the door and a few minutes later, Vidal returned, forced
his way inside, sexually assaulted the victim and ransacked the
house, authorities said. He was tracked to the motel by police and arrested there.
Here is the lo down. Image via Wikipedia The clean cut, super conservative, newly elected state senator from Peoria, Arizona, Bundaard allegedly got into a nasty fist fight with his girlfriend inside the car they were driving in after attending a charity dancing event. Bundgaard and his girlfriend of seven months, a nice Christian gal named Aubry Ballard, were leaving a National Kidney Foundation charity event in Phoenix when literally all hell broke loose between the two. National Kidney Foundation? Are you kidding me? That radical group?
At around 11:20 pm, Phoenix Police arrived at a median on Arizona Highway 51, just south of Cactus Road in north central Phoenix where the car the two were driving had pulled over as their verbal argument had already turned violent.
Bundgaard had already forcefully pulled his gal pal out of the car's driver seat, and well, it was "on" after that. Bundgaard pulled out his "I am a State Senator Get Out of Jail Free Card" and invoked his "Constitutional Right 11th Amendment." Give me a break.
Though both Ms. Ballard and Senator Bundgaard were taken into custody, only the female victim in the domestic violence incident was arrested. Complicated. Not really. Being an elected official has its "privileges" and this case is going to become a national outrage within hours.
Sweet Aubry was arrested, and spends the night in the clink. Today Senator "hot lips" is now on the "defensive" and is about to be run out of town on a Meg Lev High Speed Rail Train.
“We want to jointly apologize for allowing a private matter to interrupt the public – and especially for taking up the valuable time of law enforcement. The police officers who responded deserve thanks for their sensitivity and compassion. We have cared for each other in the past; we wish the best for each other in the future. Like most relationships, ours has had some ups and downs, but it has always been based on our Christian faith and our respect for one another. With that in mind, we intend to go our separate ways now and put what happened Friday night and Saturday in the past. Obviously, we’re both tired and embarrassed. Each of us would like to reclaim some privacy. We hope the media and the public can respect that decision. Thank you for your understanding.”
- Sen. Scott Bundgaard and Aubry Ballard
Are you nuts? You practically killed each other and now you want your "privacy?" OMG. Time for this nut bag to resign FIRST thing Monday morning. Another statement, this time from Aubry....
"Last night was the absolute worst night of my life. This morning and the hours I spent in jail were equally horrible. To go from putting on a beautiful dress for a great date to a fundraiser to ending up on the side of a freeway? I don’t have another tear left to cry,I’m still trying to get my mind around a few things: Scott’s actions, the 17 hours I spent in jail awaiting processing, my bruises, scrapes and soreness and his statements to the media. I’m not a public figure. Nor am I someone who wants to see her private life made public. At the same time, I value my reputation. I’ve always been a strong believer in the truth. I have a lot of thinking and praying to do before I decide what to do next." Save your comments for the Jury, and call Attorney Gloria Allred first thing Monday morning. Image via Wikipedia

Even Bill Crystal has bombed tonight at the 83rd Academy Awards. He just completed a "tribute" to the one and only Bob Hope, the all time best host of the Oscars. Yikes. Heads are going to roll in T-Town in around two hours over this GAWD AWFUL show.
I am now feeling sorry for Anne Hathaway. I wonder if they should go back to the days when they "didn't have an actual" host but just have "Presenters?"
Oprah Winfrey, who looked like she was wearing a blanket will sparkles (who dressed her?) presented the award. My pick was for the documentary that was about the life of tagger "Banksy."

...Rolling right along....in still the most "boring" Oscars in the 83rd year history of mankind, the Oscar for Best Make Up has been presented by actress Cate Blanchett to The WolfmanRick Baker and Dave Elsey. The fist 40 minutes of the 83rd Academy Award have concluded. So far, the show gets an "F" as in "WTF." Best Supporting Actress Melissa Leo hit it out of the park when she said, "WTF" in her acceptance speech for in "The Fighter."
Oscar Winner Melissa Leo: Leaving the Governor's Ball. WTF?
Update:
My Blog readers have been sending me tons to emails asking if Melissa Leo, the winner for Best Supporting Actress was "drunk" tonight at the Oscars?
What do you think? Her trench mouth acceptance speech dropped the "F-Bomb" and sent the entire mood for the Oscars. If was all down hill after that. I hope Melissa Leo is happy with her accomplishment tonight.
Too bad no one is going to remember her role in "The Fighter." She is the now part of Oscar lore. Hit my comment section below. Were you stunned by her "trashiness?" Sound off!

Best Supporting Actress goes to Melissa Leo for "The Fighter." Kirk Douglass presented the Award. Sad to see this Oscar Awards turning into a train wreck.
Yep. Tonight is a total mess on the main roadway that connects Southern and Central California as the famed Grapevine is shut down in both direction just outside of Santa Clarita due to "blizzard like" conditions. Literally thousands of cars are jammed on the 5 Freeway in both directions just north of Los Angeles.
Here is the official "advisory" that has just been issued by the California Highway Patrol and the California Transportation Department (CalTrans):
I 5
[IN THE SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA AREA]
IS CLOSED FROM 3 MI NORTH OF THE JCT OF SR 126 /AT PARKER ROAD/
(LOS ANGELES CO) TO THE LOS ANGELES/KERN CO LINE /THE GRAPEVINE/ - DUE TO SNOW
- MOTORISTS ARE ADVISED TO USE AN ALTERNATE ROUTE
I love that last note. "Use an Alternate Route." Ahhh.
There is NO ALTERNATE ROUTE. Your stuck in the snow.
The boarder area between Laredo Texas, and next door "sister city" of Nuevo Lardo, Mexico is once again the scene of a horrific multiple murder that has become a "daily" routine crime in this drug ravaged area.
On Saturday, police found the decapitated bodies and heads of four men in downtown Nuevo Laredo.
A Nuevo Laredo city official who spoke on condition of anonymity to several news agencies says the bodies were dumped Friday night at a monument in the city's center, right near the Municipal Palace (aka: City Hall).
Police are calling this any other "drug cartel" hit. You think?
